A. Scott Bodeau
A. Scott Bodeau devoted his legal career to public service in Nevada. Admitted to the State Bar in 1977, he spent 21 years with the state attorney general's office, where he served the departments of transportation and natural resources and conservation before being chosen to lead the legal staff supporting the state Gaming Control Board.
As chief of the legal division for the Gaming Control Board, Bodeau headed the team of lawyers in the attorney general's office that handled the board's legal matters. His expertise in the field extended to teaching, and he served as an instructor on "Gaming Law and Regulation" at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Bodeau died on March 13, 1999, in Carson City after suffering a heart attack. He was 50 years old. He is remembered for his long commitment to the State of Nevada and his contributions to the practice and instruction of gaming law.
