Allan D. Bray

Allan D. Bray was a prominent and highly respected Las Vegas attorney who practiced from 1970 until his retirement in 2010, specializing in family and personal injury law. A graduate of Marietta College, where he earned a B.A. in history in 1960, he went on to receive his law degree from Duke University Law School in 1963. Before entering private practice, he served as a special agent with the FBI from 1963 to 1969, including work on the special task force that investigated the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Over the course of his legal career in Nevada, Mr. Bray held a range of public and judicial roles. He served as a deputy city attorney from 1971 to 1972 and as chief criminal deputy city attorney from 1972 to 1973. Alongside his private practice, he also served as an alternate hearing master in juvenile court, a domestic violence commissioner, a truancy hearing master, a justice court referee, and an alternate municipal court judge.

Beyond the law, Mr. Bray was passionate about history and politics and was a devoted Duke basketball fan, attending the 2010 NCAA Final Four. He was survived by his sons Stephen Bray of Orange County, California, and Joshua Bray of Henderson, Nevada, and his brother Douglas.
