Anne Hamill Maricle

Anne Hamill Maricle passed away on September 26, 2015, after fighting cancer for more than a decade. Born on November 1, 1959, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Santa Clara University before going on to earn her Juris Doctorate.

Early in her legal career, Anne clerked for a federal trial court judge in Reno, Nevada, and went on to serve in the Consumer Advocate's Office of the Attorney General for Nevada. Her effectiveness in challenging energy rate increases drew the attention of Nevada Bell, which recruited her, and she was later promoted to Senior Counsel at Pacific Telesis. It was in Reno that she met her husband, Christopher, whom she married in July 1996.

In 1999, Anne stepped away from her rising legal career to devote herself full time to her family, raising and home-schooling her two children, Sarah and Nicholas. Colleagues, family, and friends remembered her as charming, intelligent, optimistic, and determined - qualities grounded in a deep and lifelong faith.
