Bart M. Schouweiler

Bart McClain Schouweiler was a longtime member of the Nevada legal community whose career spanned more than five decades. Born on August 11, 1934, in Wendell, Idaho, he earned a bachelor's degree from Stanford University and went on to receive his law degree from Georgetown University. He served in the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate, attaining the rank of Captain.

Admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 1959, Mr. Schouweiler built a distinguished career in public service and private practice. He was twice elected to the Nevada State Assembly and served as United States Attorney for the District of Nevada. He thereafter engaged in the private practice of law in Reno, Nevada, for over 50 years.

Bart M. Schouweiler died on September 10, 2020, in Reno, Nevada, at the age of 86. He is remembered for his lengthy service to the bar and to the State of Nevada.
