Ben Graham

Ben Graham was a longtime fixture of Nevada's legal community whose career centered on public service and criminal law. A native of Washington, he moved to Las Vegas in 1977 to become a prosecutor with the Clark County District Attorney's Office, where he rose to serve as a Chief Deputy District Attorney. Over roughly three decades in that office, he became known as an authority on Nevada criminal law and helped shape much of the state's criminal statutes.

Graham was also the longtime lobbyist for the Nevada District Attorneys Association, representing prosecutors, law enforcement, and the broader legal community before the Nevada Legislature for two decades. In his later years he continued to contribute to Nevada law as a governmental adviser and lobbyist for the Nevada Supreme Court. Alongside his practice, he taught criminal justice for some 29 years at UNLV and the College of Southern Nevada, mentoring generations of students.

Among his proudest achievements was co-founding the Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers (LCL) program of the State Bar of Nevada, together with Coe Swobe, Esq. and retired Justice Michael Cherry. The program quietly assists attorneys facing addiction and health struggles, and Graham was recognized with several State Bar awards for more than 30 years of volunteer service to it. He was widely remembered as an integral figure in promoting the health and well-being of Nevada's lawyers.
