Brian Vernon Chally was born on August 21, 1956, in Grafton, North Dakota. He earned an English degree from Concordia College in Minnesota before completing his legal education at the University of Michigan Law School in 1982.
Brian built a long and successful career as a highly respected attorney in Nevada. He served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Nevada, and during that service he was honored as the first recipient of the State Bar of Nevada's "Distinguished Public Lawyer Award" - one of many recognitions he received for his dedication and expertise over the course of his career.
An accomplished writer and avid reader, Brian found his greatest satisfaction in his relationships with family and friends. He faced a long battle with cancer with remarkable resilience, maintaining a brave and cheerful outlook throughout his treatment. He passed away on June 24, 2017, in Henderson, Nevada, at the age of 60.
