C. Stanley Hunterton

C. Stanley Hunterton was born September 10, 1948, in Fauquier, Virginia, the son of Clarence and Adelaide Hunterton. He earned both his undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees from Syracuse University. He began his legal career with the Detroit Strike Force, where his early work included the investigation into the disappearance of Teamster leader Jimmy Hoffa, and he rose to Special Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice Organized Crime and Racketeering Section.

In late 1978, Hunterton joined the Las Vegas Strike Force, prosecuting mob associates including those connected to Anthony "Tony the Ant" Spilotro, and worked on the Argent Corporation case involving the skimming of casino proceeds, which led to indictments and convictions. In 1984 he was appointed by President Ronald Reagan as Deputy Chief Counsel for the President's Commission on Organized Crime, a post he held until 1986.

Upon returning to Las Vegas in 1986, Hunterton founded Hunterton and Associates, where he practiced criminal and civil law for nearly 30 years. He also held positions at Sierra Pacific Resources (NV Energy) and with the State Bar of Nevada, taught at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law, was a Fellow of The American College of Trial Lawyers, and was listed in The Best Lawyers in America. He died at the age of 74 on August 5, 2023.
