In Memoriam

Carrie E. Peterman - November 9, 1973 to October 1, 2005

Carrie Elizabeth Peterman was born November 9, 1973, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the daughter of Neal Frederic and Hope Davis Peterman. She earned a bachelor of science degree in cellular and molecular genetics and a bachelor of science degree in advertising mass communications from Southeast Missouri State University, and went on to receive her juris doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law. During law school she served on both the Law Review and the Honor Board, worked as a student senator, and was active in speech, debate, theater, and music.

Before and during her legal training, Carrie built a broad record of professional experience. She clerked for the Missouri prosecuting attorney's office, served as campaign coordinator for the Missouri House Republican Committee, conducted molecular genetics and biochemistry research, and performed freelance web site design - work that reflected the range of her scientific and communications background.

Carrie was a member of the State Bar of Nevada and practiced law in the Las Vegas area, making her home in Henderson, Nevada. She was admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada and was registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She died October 1, 2005, at Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas at the age of 31.
