Carrie McCrea Hanlon

Carrie McCrea Hanlon, born Carolyn Jean Capps in Oakland, California, built her legal career in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she practiced for nearly three decades. After earning her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Davis in 1973, she completed her Juris Doctor degree at Cal Western School of Law in San Diego in 1990 and relocated to Las Vegas following law school.

As an attorney, Carrie focused her practice on litigating high-exposure, complex cases, work in which she was known for meeting every challenge with determination. She continued this demanding litigation practice until her retirement in 2019.

Carrie brought the same spirit to her life outside the law, from rock climbing and backpacking in her earlier years to a passion for scuba diving that she pursued around the world in retirement. She passed away on November 15, 2021, while diving near the island of Saba in the Dutch Caribbean.
