Celeste Stodick Porter
Celeste Stodick Porter was a fourth-generation Nevadan, born in Carson City to Lester and Anita Stodick and raised on the family ranch in Carson Valley. Educated in the Douglas County schools, she went on to attend law school and build a legal career grounded in service to her home state.
Early in her career she worked for a year with the National Judicial College before coming to Elko to serve as law clerk to Judge Joseph McDaniel. She then practiced for a year with the Elko law firm of Goicoechea and DiGrazia, after which she returned to Carson City to serve as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Nevada.
A dedicated member of the Nevada bar, Celeste Stodick Porter devoted her professional life to the law and to public service in the state where her family had lived for generations. She died on April 6, 2015.
