Charles Henry Miles Jr.

Charles Henry Miles Jr. was born March 25, 1927, in Detroit, and moved with his family to Las Vegas in 1932. He graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1945, entered U.S. Navy boot camp, and then attended the University of Nevada, where he graduated in 1950. He went on to earn his law degree from Stanford University and served as a clerk for the California Supreme Court before returning to Las Vegas in 1955 to practice law.

Over the course of his legal career in Nevada, Mr. Miles counted among his proudest accomplishments his service on the State Board of Bar Examiners and his work rewriting several Nevada state statutes. He remained a member of the Las Vegas legal community for decades following his admission to the bar.

Charles Henry Miles Jr. passed away May 23, 2014, at the age of 87. He is remembered for a long career in the law and for his contributions to the shaping of Nevada's statutes and the examination of those entering the profession.
