Craig L. Harasek

Craig Lee Harasek was born in Illinois on November 12, 1947, and built a life defined by a deep love of California and the outdoors. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Utah State University in 1969 and joined the United States Forest Service, where he served for more than 25 years and rose to the position of District Ranger before the age of 30.

While working full time, Craig pursued the study of law during evening classes, earning his Juris Doctor from McGeorge School of Law in 1987. He was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada on September 25, 2003, holding bar number 8485, capping a career path that spanned both public land stewardship and the legal profession.

Craig met Susan Collins when they were teenagers, and the two married in 1970, sharing their lives together until her passing in 2014. He passed away on October 6, 2017. He is remembered by his family and those who knew him for a life rooted in dedication, learning, and the natural world he cherished.
