Daniel Richard Walsh
Daniel R. Walsh was a prominent Nevada attorney whose career spanned more than four decades of public and private legal service in the state. Admitted to the Nevada bar in 1962, he built a reputation as a skilled advocate and a fixture of the Carson City legal community.
Early in his career, Walsh served as chief deputy attorney general, representing the State of Nevada in its first civil rights cases. In that capacity he also served as legal counsel for the state university system before entering private practice. He went on to practice privately for 33 years, representing numerous clients - including entertainer Wayne Newton - in disputes over property rights at Lake Tahoe.
Walsh died on April 4, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital at the age of 71. He was remembered as a dedicated attorney whose work helped shape the legal landscape of Nevada.
