David Joseph Guinan - October 4, 1947 to November 3, 2011

David Joseph Guinan was born in Reno, Nevada, on October 4, 1947, to Glenn Guinan and Beverly Jones, and was a fourth-generation Nevadan. He was an alumnus of the University of Nevada and of Hastings College of the Law, the foundation for a legal career rooted in his home state.

Admitted to the Nevada bar, David built his practice in Reno, where he became a partner with the Hoffman, Test, Guinan and Collier law firm and worked in the field of insurance law. Beyond his practice, he was remembered as a teacher, and he devoted himself to a wide range of civic and fraternal organizations, including the Reno Central Rotary Club and the Challenger Learning Center.

David was a lifelong Mason and a leader within the fraternity, active in Washoe Lodge #35, the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, the Nevada Shriners' Widows and Orphans Fund, the Red Cross of Constantine, and DeMolay International, among other bodies. In 1999 he served as Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of the Free & Accepted Masons of Nevada. A loving husband, father, grandfather, teacher, and friend, he was deeply missed by all who knew him.
