Debra Nicholson

Debra Sue Nicholson was a Stanford University graduate (Class of 1981) who earned her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1984. She began her legal career practicing tax law in San Francisco before establishing her own estate planning practice in the Lake Tahoe region, maintaining offices in Tahoe City, California, and Incline Village, Nevada. She was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada on January 7, 1991, and was also a member of the California State Bar.

Throughout her career, Nicholson was active in the legal community of the Tahoe area. She served as secretary/treasurer of the Tahoe Truckee Bar Association and sat as a judge pro tem for the Placer and Nevada Counties court system. Her professional and civic service also included roles as a water utility board member and as a newly appointed member of the Truckee Tahoe Airport Advisory Committee.

Beyond her legal work, Nicholson remained connected to her alma mater as co-correspondent for the Stanford Class of 1981. An accomplished pilot, avid skier, and mountain biker, she died on September 27, 2020. She is remembered for a career of dedicated legal service to the communities of the Lake Tahoe region.
