Douglas L. Monson

Douglas L. Monson - known to family and colleagues as Doug - was a Las Vegas litigation attorney whose career spanned more than fifteen years at the Nevada bar. He served as a litigation partner at SmithMonson LLC, where he handled a wide range of matters with a particular emphasis on commercial and business litigation and personal injury litigation.

He grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and earned his Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Utah. He went on to attend Baylor Law School, where he received the ABA/BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Labor and Employment Law. After graduation, Doug and his family moved to Las Vegas in 2001 - the same year he was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada - and there he began his career as a litigator.

Over the course of his practice he built a reputation as a dedicated advocate for his clients across the courts of Nevada. Douglas Lamont Monson was born in 1970 and passed away on January 19, 2019, at the age of 48.
