E. Leslie Combs, Jr. - September 5, 1947 to October 21, 2015

Eli Leslie "Les" Combs, Jr. was born in the small Appalachian town of Hazard, Kentucky, on September 5, 1947. After completing three years of college and serving in the military, he earned a bachelor's degree in management and a law degree from the University of Louisville before making his home in Nevada.

Admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 1978, Les went on to become one of the most highly respected attorneys in Clark County. He served as President of the Clark County Bar Association and gave six years of service on the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Nevada. In recognition of his dedication, the Nevada Supreme Court awarded him the Certificate of Special Recognition as Outstanding Volunteer of the Clark County Neighborhood Justice Center.

Upon retiring from the practice of law, Les joined the Peace Corps and was assigned to Kazakhstan, where he learned Russian and taught business classes. His commitment to service continued abroad, and he later sponsored a student from Kazakhstan in pursuing a master's degree at the University of Kentucky. He passed away on October 21, 2015.
