Edward J. Gladding - January 31, 1976 to September 29, 2024
Edward Justin Gladding, known to many as "E.J.," was born January 31, 1976, in Sacramento, California, and grew up in Reno, Nevada, where he graduated from Reno High School. He went on to earn a degree in communications from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, before completing his law degree at the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento. At McGeorge he distinguished himself in oral advocacy at mock trial competitions and served as an editor of the McGeorge Law Review.
After law school he built a career as a litigation attorney in private practice. Drawn by his family's legacy of military service, he joined the United States Army Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps in 2009, dedicating his legal skills to representing and defending the men and women of the armed forces. Over the course of his military legal career he deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan, and he continued to serve those who serve the nation following his retirement from active duty at the rank of Major.
Edward J. Gladding passed away on September 29, 2024, at the age of 48. He is remembered for his advocacy, his commitment to service, and the enduring Nevada roots that shaped his life.
