Edward Wayne LeBaron Jr. was born January 7, 1930, in San Rafael, California, and was raised in Healdsburg and Valley Home, California. He attended the College of the Pacific, where he first earned national recognition, and later served as a Marine officer during the Korean War, distinguishing himself as a senior platoon commander and receiving the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. He earned his law degree from George Washington University.
Mr. LeBaron moved to Nevada and practiced law, representing notable clients including Howard Hughes. His admission to the Nevada Bar in 1966 placed him among the attorneys serving the state during that era. He remained active in the profession throughout his life, later returning to Northern California to continue his law career in Sacramento.
Beyond the law, Mr. LeBaron was widely respected for a distinguished professional football career and, in a later chapter, served as an executive in the sport. He was remembered by those who knew him as a gentleman - humble, pleasant, and genuine. He passed away on April 1, 2015, having lived an extraordinary life.
