Enos LeRoy Arrascada - 1936-08-19 to 2009-12-15

Enos LeRoy Arrascada was born in Elko, Nevada, on August 19, 1936, a third generation Basque Nevadan. He graduated from Elko High School in 1954 and attended the University of Nevada, Reno, graduating in 1959, where he was active in student government and served in the University Senate. After college he enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged, then entered law school at the American University School of Law in Washington, D.C., graduating in 1964.

LeRoy moved to Reno in 1964 and began practicing law there that same year, embarking on a career that would span more than four decades. He loved the practice of law and was considered one of the true gentlemen of the legal profession. He was especially proud to be law partners with his son John and daughter Christine, and he never retired, continuing to come in to work up until the day before he passed away.

Beyond his practice, LeRoy was deeply engaged in the legal and civic life of northern Nevada. He served as former President of the Washoe County Bar Association and was one of the founding members of the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association. He was also a founder and first President of the Reno Zazpiak Basque Club and a former Chairman of the Washoe County Democratic Party, among many other community involvements. Enos LeRoy Arrascada died at home in Reno on December 15, 2009.
