Eric Louis Zubel - 1943-11-14 to 2022-10-30

Eric Louis Zubel was born on November 14, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in 1966 and went on to attend Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, earning his law degree in 1971. He would later return to Golden Gate University, completing an LLM in International Law in 1998 and further broadening his legal expertise.

After earning his law degree, Eric moved to Las Vegas, where he first served as a law clerk for Judge Thomas O'Donnell of the Eighth Judicial District Court. Obtaining his license to practice law in 1972, he opened his own practice that same year, beginning a long career handling a wide variety of cases. He later expanded his practice to Seattle in 2004.

Over the course of his career, Eric was a fierce defender of the civil and criminal justice system, often fighting on the side of the marginalized and less fortunate, and he truly believed in equal access to the courts - earning him a reputation as an 'equalizer' among those who knew him. By the time he retired in 2015, he had tried 25 jury trials and taken more than 20 appeals to the Nevada Supreme Court, 12 of which became published opinions.
