Fred Daniel Gibson III - 1951 to April 6, 2014

Fred Daniel Gibson III - known to friends and colleagues as "Pete" - built his legal career in Southern Nevada after earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in 1973 and his law degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 1976. He served as a captain in the United States Army, Judge Advocate General's Corps, before returning to Nevada to practice law.

Gibson was admitted to the State Bars of Nevada and California, as well as to various U.S. courts of appeals. He served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Nevada and acted as a private prosecuting attorney for the Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline on a case-by-case basis. In 2005 he became a shareholder and Senior Litigation Partner at Lionel, Sawyer & Collins, one of Nevada's most prominent law firms.

Beyond the practice of law, Gibson brought his professional experience to the world of sports, serving as general manager for two professional franchises in the Continental Indoor Soccer League and the Arena Football League, and serving as a past president of the Arena Football League.
