Gerald A. Phillips

Gerald A. Phillips was born on January 2, 1947, in Menominee, Michigan, where he graduated from Menominee High School in 1965. He went on to earn a degree in Marketing from Madison University in 1970. Before pursuing the law, he followed his first passion for music, becoming a drummer for The Platters in the 1970s and touring Europe before finishing his musical career in Las Vegas.

Gerald ultimately fulfilled his second lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer, graduating from Old College in Reno and being admitted to the State Bar of Nevada on December 20, 1989. He built and maintained his own law practice in Reno for over 20 years, working in areas that included bankruptcy law and insurance litigation. Colleagues remembered him as a remarkable and generous lawyer.

Gerald passed away on March 13, 2011. He was remembered for his great passion for helping others and for the warmth and character he brought to his work and to all who knew him.
