Henry H. Rawlings Jr. - 1941-02-22 to 2016-04-19

Henry H. Rawlings Jr. was born February 22, 1941, in Fairview, Idaho, the tenth and last child of Henry and Theresa Rawlings, and grew up on a dairy farm near Preston, Idaho. His interest in the law began early - as a youth he would often ask his schoolteachers for permission to attend trials at the county courthouse. After graduating from Preston High School in 1959, he attended the University of Utah and Utah State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in political science. He went on to the College of Law at the University of Denver, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1970.

After law school, Henry moved to Las Vegas and soon became a partner at the firm of Cromer, Barker, Michaelson, Gillock and Rawlings. He later established his own firm, Rawlings, Olson, and Cannon, where he practiced for the duration of his legal career. He thoroughly enjoyed his work as an attorney, arguing cases in the Nevada courts and serving his clients and his community.

Over the course of his career, Henry was heavily involved in a number of notable cases, including the MGM Grand fire case arising from the 1980 fire that killed 87 people, the Las Vegas Hilton fire case of 1981, and the PEPCON explosion case of 1989. He passed away April 19, 2016, at age 75.
