Henry R. Gordon - 1934-01-06 to 2024-08-23

Henry Royd "Hank" Gordon was a long-time Las Vegas resident and well-known local attorney. Born January 6, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and raised in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, he earned both his Bachelor's and Juris Doctorate degrees from Georgetown University. Early in his professional life he worked in Washington, D.C. for the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC). After law school he joined the United States Army, was commissioned as a Captain, and was stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco, California.

In 1963 he moved his young family to Las Vegas, where he briefly served as corporate counsel working with the AEC before establishing his own practice. His downtown Las Vegas law office focused primarily on criminal matters, bankruptcies, and family law cases. He remained a member of the Nevada Bar for nearly 60 years, in his later years practicing law alongside his son John Gordon.

Beyond his legal career, Hank was an accomplished distance runner who completed the Boston Marathon, an avid chess player, and a devoted fan of the Three Stooges. He died peacefully on August 23, 2024, at the age of 90.
