James Evans Barfield

James Evans "Jack" Barfield was born January 10, 1939, in Charleston, South Carolina, the third child and first son of William James and Iva Estelle Evans Barfield. He earned his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada on October 23, 1968.

Mr. Barfield was a well-known and well-respected member of the Las Vegas legal community, practicing law in the city for more than 35 years. He served in the Clark County District Attorney's Office before entering private practice, and for a time also served as a judge in North Las Vegas.

After a long illness, James "Jack" Barfield died at his home in Las Vegas on December 21, 2006. He is remembered for a distinguished career of service to the courts and clients of southern Nevada.
