James G. Sanford

James G. Sanford was a Reno attorney who built a professional life that bridged accounting and the law. A graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, he first passed the CPA examination and worked as a Certified Public Accountant with Kafoury Armstrong before turning to the legal profession. He went on to attend law school at the UC Davis School of Law.

Upon graduation, he joined Vargas Bartlett - later known as Jones Vargas - and was admitted to practice before the State Bar of Nevada in 1990. He subsequently entered practice alongside his father at The Sanford Law Firm, and in 2005 he struck out on his own in the private practice of law in Reno, where he was known for his work as a tax attorney.

James G. Sanford passed away on December 16, 2011. His combined background as both a certified public accountant and an attorney distinguished his more than two decades of service to Nevada clients.
