James J. Jackson

James Jeffrey "J.J." Jackson was born October 31, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Gene and Carolyn Jeffreys Jackson. He began practicing law in 1987, building a career that spanned both criminal justice and private practice. His practice areas included work with the public defender's and district attorney's offices in Texas and Nevada.

In Nevada, J.J. was named the Juvenile Master and Associate Municipal Court Judge for Carson City, and he served as the Nevada Chief Public Defender. He went on to become president of the firm Thorndal Armstrong Delk Balkenbush & Eisinger, where his practice included general insurance defense.

Beyond the courtroom, J.J. was well known for his lobbying practice at the Nevada Legislature, where he was a familiar and respected presence. He passed away on February 28, 2014.
