Jay R. Roberts Jr.

Jay R. Roberts Jr. was born on September 19, 1972, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and built his life in service to his community. He served as an officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for twenty years, rising through the ranks and retiring as a Lieutenant in 2015.

While still serving with the LVMPD, Jay pursued a legal education, graduating from the UNLV Sam Boyd School of Law with a Juris Doctorate. He was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 2011, combining his law enforcement experience with his new profession as an attorney. After retiring from the department, he continued to serve those who serve, working as legal counsel for the Las Vegas Police Managers and Supervisors Association, a role he held until his passing.

Jay R. Roberts Jr. passed away on October 10, 2018, at the age of 46, after a nine-year battle with cancer. His career bridged two callings - protecting his community as a police officer and advocating for his fellow officers as an attorney - and he is remembered for his dedication to both.
