Jeffrey S. Rugg

Jeffrey Samuel Rugg was a respected member of the Nevada legal community who practiced law in Las Vegas. Born in Manhasset, New York, to Gary and Betty Rugg, he was a graduate of Cornell University and Columbia Law School before building his career in Southern Nevada.

Jeffrey was a shareholder at the law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, where he was known for his dedication to pro bono service. In 2014 he ran for judge, and he was active in civic life as a board member of the Discovery Children's Museum and a graduate of Leadership Las Vegas.

Jeffrey passed away on November 17, 2017, at the age of 46, following a 14-month battle with cancer. In 2018, Brownstein named its annual Pro Bono Awards the Jeffrey S. Rugg Pro Bono Awards in his memory, honoring his legacy and his commitment to serving those in need.
