John Harold Pilkington - January 21, 1942 to June 5, 2012
John Harold Pilkington was born January 21, 1942, in Lake Ozark, Missouri. An Eagle Scout and honor student, he began college at seventeen and graduated with honors from the University of Missouri before completing law school. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, rising to the rank of Captain and serving with Army Intelligence at Camp King near Frankfurt, Germany.
Admitted to the Missouri Bar, the Nevada Bar, and the United States Supreme Court, John maintained an active law practice for more than thirty-five years. His career in Nevada spanned decades following his admission to the state bar, and he became a respected figure in the Las Vegas legal community.
Beyond his legal practice, John was approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission and was one of the original owners of the Edgewater Hotel Casino in Laughlin, Nevada. A former professional water skier and competitor with a lifelong love of classical music and opera, he was survived by his wife, Julie; sons, Matthew and David; daughter, Megan; and his brother, Tim Pilkington, and family.
