Jon Douglas Benson

Jon Douglas Benson was born in Reno, Nevada, on June 13, 1944. He attended the University of Nevada and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He went on to attend the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, graduating with honors, and built his legal career in his hometown of Reno.

For decades, Jon practiced as a litigation and appeals attorney in Reno, Nevada. Colleagues remembered him as a lawyer with few peers - professional, decisive, and unfailingly courteous - who afforded his clients the highest quality representation. He was widely regarded not only as a skilled advocate but as a kind and genuine person who took care to check on the well-being of those around him.

In October 1968, Jon married Jeanne Bollinger, and their life together was filled with love, mirth, and adventure, including sports car touring, motorcycle trips, and RV travel. Jon Douglas Benson passed away on October 25, 2017.
