John R Provost

John R. Provost was a Nevada attorney and jurist who dedicated much of his career to public service in Southern Nevada. Admitted to the State Bar of Nevada on October 4, 1993, he built his professional life in the Las Vegas and Henderson legal community, where colleagues remembered him as a devoted member of the profession.

Provost served as a Henderson municipal judge from 1996 to 2003, presiding over the local bench for seven years. He was regarded as a dynamic judge who cared deeply about his family and the legal profession, and he formed lasting friendships within the Nevada judiciary, including with Nevada Supreme Court Justice Nancy Saitta, whom he met through the Nevada Judicial College. Following his time on the bench, he continued to apply his legal training in the legal department at American Family Insurance Co.

John R. Provost died in 2009 at the age of 48. He is survived by three children.
