Kerry L. Schomer

Kerry Lea Schomer was an attorney for the State of Nevada. She was admitted to the Nevada Bar in 1988 and made her home in Reno, where she lived for more than thirty years. A dedicated and industrious professional, she earned her BA, JD, and MBA over the course of her education and career.

Kerry grew up in Nebraska before settling in the Reno area. Known for her sharp questioning skills, she had a gift for drawing others into lively conversation and turning the focus to the people around her. Colleagues remembered her as a steadfast presence in the State attorney's office and a generous soul who supported those she worked with.

Beyond her legal work, Kerry loved the Sierra Nevada Mountains and was an active member of the Reno Ski Club, with a passion for skiing and hiking. She also enjoyed reading, swimming, cycling, and traveling, visiting New Zealand, Italy, and Russia and living for a time in Alaska. She truly enjoyed life and will be missed dearly. Kerry Lea Schomer passed away on October 30, 2018, at the age of 69.
