Leslie Burns Gray

Leslie Burns Gray was a Reno, Nevada attorney whose legal career spanned more than five decades. Admitted to the State Bar of Nevada on December 31, 1940, he built his practice in northern Nevada and became part of the generation of Reno lawyers who helped shape the state's modern legal framework.

Gray served as a member of the Advisory Committee to the Supreme Court of Nevada on Rules of Civil Procedure, joining a group of Reno attorneys chaired by Prince A. Hawkins whose work drafting the state's civil procedure rules was completed in 1952. He maintained a law office in Reno for many years, where future Nevada Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa worked as an associate between 1975 and 1978.

Beyond the practice of law, Gray was a student of Nevada history. He authored 'The Source and the Vision: Nevada's Role in the Civil War,' published in Sparks by The Gray Trust in 1989. Born in Nevada on November 19, 1915, the son of Harry M. Gray and Lelah Burns, he died on September 20, 1995, in Sparks, Nevada.
