Lester Harold Berkson

Lester Harold Berkson was born January 3, 1930, in Chicago to George and Ruth Berkson. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign and went on to graduate from the UCLA School of Law, where he met Phyllis, his wife of 68 years.

Admitted to the Nevada bar in 1955, Mr. Berkson built a distinguished legal career as a lawyer, mediator, and judge. He practiced first in Las Vegas and then for nearly 50 years at Lake Tahoe, where he was known for his honesty and fairness. His legal work on behalf of local districts helped preserve the water quality of Lake Tahoe, and he was an active participant in community service organizations.

Remembered as a successful and well-respected member of the Nevada legal community, Mr. Berkson passed away peacefully on August 28, 2022, at the age of 92.
