Linda Diane Anisman - 1949 to March 6, 2015

Linda Anisman built a legal career devoted to public interest and family law that spanned more than 35 years. A 1975 graduate of the UCLA School of Law, she was among the first 100 women licensed to practice law in Nevada, and early in her career she served with Nevada Indian Legal Services and Alaska Legal Services.

In 1978 she came to Bishop, California, as a staff attorney for California Indian Legal Services. She went on to become an associate with the law firm of Forstenzer and Rudder in Bishop and later established her own private practice. A certified family law specialist in California, she eventually took a position with the Child Support Division of the Inyo County District Attorney's Office, retiring some 25 years later as head of the Inyo County Department of Child Support Services.

Beyond her practice, she was one of the founding mothers of Wild Iris Women's Services, serving on the organization's Board of Directors and as its legal advisor for a number of years. She was remembered as an attorney whose work reflected a lasting commitment to the communities she served.
