Marla J. Hudgens

Marla Jordan Hudgens was a respected Nevada and Arizona attorney whose legal career began in Las Vegas. Born January 24, 1982, in Flagstaff, Arizona, she graduated cum laude from Gonzaga University in 2004 and earned her law degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law in 2008. She was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada on October 14, 2008, and began her legal career serving as a law clerk for Nevada Supreme Court Justice James W. Hardesty.

Marla entered private practice as an associate attorney at Lionel Sawyer & Collins in Las Vegas before joining Lewis Roca (Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie), where she was elevated to partner in 2017. As a member of the firm's litigation group, she was known as a determined litigator who also built a practice in administrative and regulatory law, and she devoted energy to humanitarian work with sovereign Indian tribes. Colleagues consistently described her as passionate, driven, and tireless, and she was widely recognized for her commitment to advancing equity and inclusion for women within the legal profession.

Beyond her legal work, Marla remained active in her community, serving in leadership and volunteer roles including board member and director of girls coaching for a youth soccer club, vice president of a local Lions Club, and chair of a scholarship program for high school seniors. She was remembered throughout the legal community as a highly respected advocate whose impact on her firm and colleagues endured well beyond her lifetime. Marla Jordan Hudgens died November 16, 2022, at the age of 40.
