Martha J. Ashcraft - 1954-04-28 to 2026-03-24

Martha "Marti" J. Ashcraft earned her undergraduate degree from Pomona College in California and her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. She was admitted to the Nevada State Bar in 1979, among the first 100 women to hold that distinction in the state.

Ms. Ashcraft began her legal career at Vargas and Bartlett, where she became the firm's first woman partner in 1985. She later joined Kummer Kaempfer Bonner and Renshaw as a senior partner, then founded the Las Vegas office of Lewis and Roca. In 2009 she established the Law Office of Martha J. Ashcraft, continuing to serve clients until her retirement in 2016 after more than 37 years practicing law. Her landmark cases changed state law and opened doors for firms and clients across the country.

Over the course of her career, Ms. Ashcraft was named to Best Lawyers in America, honored as a Nevada Super Lawyer, and received the Women of Achievement Award and the State Bar of Nevada's Distinguished Service Award. She served as president of the Clark County Bar Association, the Clark County Law Foundation, and the Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys, and gave her time to numerous civic and community boards.
