Marvin Longabaugh

Marvin Lee Longabaugh was born on July 9, 1960, in Gainesville, Texas, the first-born child of W. T. "Tommy" Longabaugh and Margilee Coffee. He graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems in 1982. While attending the William S. Boyd School of Law in Las Vegas, he founded and owned Magellan Research, a polling company he operated in Las Vegas for eleven years.

Marvin earned his Juris Doctorate in 2001 and was issued his license as an Attorney and Counselor at Law in the State of Nevada in 2002. That same year he completed the Program of Instruction for Lawyers Basic and Advanced Negotiation Workshop at Harvard, and in 2003 he served as a Judicial Clerk for the Justices of the Supreme Court of the State of Nevada. He went on to earn a Master of Law in Trial Advocacy from Temple University in May 2008 and received his license to practice law in the State of Texas in 2012.

Marvin independently owned Longabaugh Law Offices and practiced law in Las Vegas and Navasota for more than sixteen years. Beyond his legal career, he taught at the master's level and, most recently, founded the Navasota Star in 2016, serving as its owner, publisher, writer, editor, and even newspaper deliveryman. He passed away on March 4, 2017, at the age of 56.
