Melvin L. Beauchamp

Melvin L. Beauchamp was born October 20, 1929, in Roseville, California. He attended the University of San Francisco and earned his juris doctorate from Hastings College of the Law. Admitted to practice in both California and Nevada, he made his home in Carson City for more than four decades.

After beginning his legal career in private practice, Mr. Beauchamp served the State of Nevada for 24 years as a deputy attorney general, working under Attorneys General Harvey Dickerson, Robert List, Richard Bryan, and Brian McKay. He later became chief counsel for the Nevada Department of Transportation, a role he held until his retirement in 1987.

Beyond the law, Mr. Beauchamp was passionate about the outdoors and pursuits including hunting, gunsmithing, sailing, and snow skiing. He died June 20, 2004, at his home in Carson City at the age of 74.
