Michael James Gore

Michael J. Gore was an attorney licensed in Nevada and New Jersey whose career spanned law enforcement, gaming regulation, and international casino development. A graduate of Rutgers University and Rutgers Law School, he also earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He began his career in his home state as a New Jersey state trooper assigned to the Division of Gaming Enforcement, where he worked in surveillance and security - the foundation for a lifetime spent in the gaming industry.

In the mid-1980s, Mr. Gore was recruited by the Genting Group and went on to become one of the true pioneers of Asian gaming. He helped open casinos in the Bahamas and Australia, founded the Golden Crown casino in Poipet, Cambodia, contributed to the establishment of Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore, and served as general manager of Savan Vegas in Laos. Over decades of work across Southeast Asia and the Mekong region, he became widely regarded as a legend and an elder statesman of the industry.

Mr. Gore returned to the United States in 2021, joining the Elko County District Attorney's office in Nevada as an assistant district attorney and drawing once again on the Nevada law license he had long held. He died on September 22, 2022, remembered by colleagues across the gaming world for his pioneering role and his lasting contributions to the profession.
