Michael Leo Potter - 1950 to 2019

Michael Leo Potter built a legal career grounded in a lifetime of public service. Commissioned as a naval officer in 1978, he served aboard an aircraft carrier in the Pacific and completed shore duty with an F-18 fighter squadron at Miramar Naval Air Station. On active duty he later served aboard a guided missile destroyer in the Pacific and on shore duty at Misawa Air Base in Japan. He continued his career in the Navy Reserve, ultimately retiring at the rank of Captain aboard the USS Midway in San Diego after 28 years of military service.

Alongside his naval service, Michael pursued his education and the practice of law, earning two master's degrees and a law degree and passing the California bar on his first attempt. He established and partnered in a thriving legal firm, hosted a legal radio show, and devoted his practice to matters involving trusts and the protection of personal wealth for numerous clients.

Michael and his family later moved to Las Vegas, where he became a corporate attorney, passed the Nevada bar, and served clients in both California and Nevada. He is remembered by his wife, Theresa, his son, Christopher, his step-daughter, Leah, and his brothers, Chuck, Joe, and Tim.
