Michael Lemcool

Michael James Lemcool was born on November 20, 1955, in Michigan and grew up in Traverse City, where he graduated from Traverse City Senior High School. He earned an associate's degree from Northwestern Michigan College, a bachelor's degree from Ferris State University, and a master's degree in Law from Wayne State University. He passed the Bar Exam in 1980, beginning a legal career that would span more than three decades and two states.

In Michigan, Mike owned his own law firm, Lemcool and Associates, in Traverse City. He served the citizens of Leelanau County for ten years as assistant prosecuting attorney and then as prosecuting attorney. He later moved to New Buffalo, Michigan, to continue practicing law before relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada on November 17, 2000, and continued his successful law career.

Colleagues remembered Mike as a class act and an excellent attorney as well as a devoted public servant. Beyond the courtroom, he was an Eagle Scout of Troop #32 in the Boy Scouts of America and remained active in his community through the Traverse City Cherry Festival, the Civic Players, the Exchange Club, and Elks Lodge #323. Michael Lemcool passed away on February 3, 2016, in Las Vegas.
