Mike Soumbeniotis - March 30, 1932 to July 19, 1997
Mike Soumbeniotis was a Nevada attorney who devoted his career to the practice of law in his home state. A native Nevadan, he was born on March 30, 1932, in Ely, in White Pine County. He was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada on October 1, 1973, beginning a legal career that would keep him rooted in Nevada throughout his life.
Mr. Soumbeniotis practiced with the Carson City firm of Allison, MacKenzie, Hartman, Soumbeniotis & Russell, Ltd., where he became a named partner. His work included representing public entities in Nevada, among them the Carson City School District. He remained engaged in matters of state law and policy, appearing before the Nevada Legislature in 1993 to testify on proposed amendments to Nevada's Administrative Procedure Act (NRS 233B), which he believed would benefit both administrative agencies and the attorneys who practiced before them.
Mike Soumbeniotis died on July 19, 1997. The Carson City firm in which he was a named partner endures today, having continued in practice as Allison MacKenzie, Ltd.
