In Memoriam

Muriel Drabkin Gund, Esq. - 1930-02-12 to 2016-10-23

Muriel Drabkin Gund was born February 12, 1930, in Hartford, Connecticut, and grew up in the nearby town of Norwich with her parents, Harry and Mildred, and her younger sisters, Naomi and Joan. Before entering the law, she built a career in entertainment, working in the contract department of the William Morris Agency, as well as for the Paul Winchell and Red Buttons television shows and for celebrity Danny Kaye as his personal secretary.

Muriel attended law school at New York University, where she graduated second in her class, and went on to pass the New York State Bar. A vacation to Las Vegas led her to make the city her new home. Admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 1965, she was among the first 100 female attorneys in the state and became a longtime presence in the Las Vegas legal field.

Muriel passed away on October 23, 2016, at the age of 86. She was greatly missed by friends, family, and colleagues, and was survived by her sons, Lawrence and Jeffrey Gund, and by her sister, Joan Chernizer.
