Philip C. Van Alstyne

Philip Charles Van Alstyne was born on October 16, 1958, in Los Angeles, California, and was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Utah and went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.

After completing his legal education, Philip moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1987, where he built his career in the law. He was remembered as an astute attorney who genuinely enjoyed litigation, and he devoted himself to that work throughout his years of practice in Nevada.

Beyond his profession, Philip was deeply committed to his community and his faith, serving in leadership roles within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He passed away on December 1, 2017, after nearly a year of intensive treatment for brain cancer.
