Prince Archer Hawkins - 1918-12-28 to 2013-04-20

Prince Archer Hawkins was born December 28, 1918, in Reno, Nevada, and grew up in the city, attending Mount Rose, Billinghurst, and Reno High School. He went on to graduate from Yale University with the Class of 1940 and later earned degrees from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School, having also attended Stanford Law School. Admitted to the Nevada Bar on November 7, 1941, he built his legal career in his home state of Nevada.

Hawkins practiced with the Reno firm of Hawkins, Folsom & Muir, a firm whose lineage traces back to 1880 and which carried the Hawkins family name across generations. His work centered on trust, estate, and tax law, fields in which he earned wide professional recognition. He was elected a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a Fellow of The American College of Tax Counsel, distinctions reserved for attorneys of established standing in those specialties.

Beyond his practice, Hawkins served as a trustee of the Robert Z. Hawkins Foundation, continuing his family's long tradition of civic and philanthropic engagement in northern Nevada. He died April 20, 2013, in Reno, closing a legal career that spanned more than seven decades of service to the Nevada bar.
