Richard Allaye Chan Jr.

Richard Emanuel Allaye-Chan was a distinguished attorney whose legal career spanned more than three decades. A native of the Sacramento, California region, he attended St. Mel's School and graduated from Jesuit High School in 1985. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from the University of the Pacific in 1989 and his Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 1994.

Admitted to the California bar in 1994 and to the State Bar of Nevada in the late 1990s, Richard built his practice in criminal defense, including DUI defense, and served earlier in his career as a deputy prosecutor. Over the course of his career he and his firm handled thousands of criminal matters, and he became known for his unwavering dedication to justice and to his clients.

Colleagues and clients remembered Richard for the integrity, intelligence, and genuine care he brought to those he served. He passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 57.
