Richard Bennett

Richard George Bennett was born on July 4, 1944, at Elko General Hospital in Elko, Nevada. He lived in Elko until 1957, when his family moved to Reno. After graduating from Reno High School, he attended the University of Nevada, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1966.

He went on to the University of San Francisco School of Law, graduating in 1969. Entering the United States Army that same year, he rose to the rank of Captain and served a one-year tour of duty in Vietnam. Following his military service, he returned to Reno and began his law practice.

Over the course of a successful legal career in Nevada, Mr. Bennett practiced corporate law and earned recognition by his peers for professional excellence, holding a Martindale-Hubbell AV rating - a distinction that was a source of pride to him. He retired from the law firm Holland & Hart in 2012.
